Maybe you think abortion is necessary in some cases, especially rape. Maybe you’ve been young and pregnant or watched someone struggle emotionally or physically, in that scene. Maybe you resent religion in some way and you know the people who stand for life are mostly those “church, God-loving people.” I get it, “your body, your choice.”
I don’t know what you’ve been through, what your friends and family have been through, or what you will go through in the future but taking the life of another person can never solve the answer.
To the woman who has been raped and became pregnant; I’m so sorry. I cannot imagine what you have been through. Too much pain and burden– my words will not do justice. Unfortunately, it may take a very long time to recover from that experience—you’re always in my prayers. That man who did that to you deserves just punishment in prison for the rest of his life. As for the baby in your womb, he does not deserve punishment, nor do you. Your child is innocent and you deserve to be free of hopelessness and you deserve opportunities to alleviate your pain. Does a child deserve to be killed because of the mistake of his father?
For some who may say to you “I could never look at my child and not rethink of the awful experience” I can assure you a lot of mothers today whose children were born into the arms of [who they thought to be a loving husband] would never say that. Some women have had their husbands leave them, become alcoholics, or abuse their children and a lot of those mothers have also said, “I look at my child and see nothing but love and motivation for better.” Those women work harder for their child and know that child deserves more, if not the most love ever to exist.
For the woman who is pregnant and cannot afford to support her child; I cannot imagine the stress you feel. How hard it must be to feel this heavy weight on your shoulders. Your child deserves the best, I know you believe this. He/she will obtain that best at one point in their life. Some children have the best when they are born, some have it when they are 13, 20, 26, 35, 58, or 80.
People have had unfair things happen, life never really turns out like you’d hoped. God is saying “if you rise up out of those ashes, put on a new attitude, I’ll not only bring you out but I’ll bring you out with twice what you had before.” The parents who were financially stable at the time of their birth may not be two months or even three to ten years after. At that point is it okay to kill their child for convenience?
For the woman who just got told her life is in danger; I’m sure you’re numb and unsure of what to do. You want to live, I know, and if he could tell you, so does your child. I’m also sorry to inform you that many doctors will not tell you that it is safer to deliver the baby, via C-section, than it is to have that abortion. (http://www.breakingchristiannews.com/articles/display_art.html?ID=19505) Maybe they just want your money, but it’s yours, so is your child, and your life. You’ve come so far, do not lose hope.
For those who are on the fence because maybe “life doesn’t begin at conception,” I could sit here and write about how, scientifically, that child is growing and being nurtured every day. Or if you want to be able to have sex without consequences, I could remind you the female body is literally made to be a fertile entity.

Our generation has made abortion a commonplace. That said, it’s hard to see the sanctity of life when people are not showing it in a corrupt world. Truthfully, the fact that a mother can kill her own child today is beyond me. The depths of the selfishness involved in abortion is so understood among many people that the understanding of how love transforms us is falling by the way-side.
More than anything; abortion is denying a woman who and what she is. In the words of two influencers; Jennifer Fulwiler and Ryan Bomberger of the Radiance Foundation, here’s the best kept secrets into the immorality of abortion. Fulwiler, a once atheist now Catholic convert said,
“Catholicism is the last and only institution in the world that tells women the truth about our procreative nature. It’s the place where harsh truths are revealed because a good God knows and created us to be not only intelligent women who grasp the truth of the Church’s teaching, but believes and knows women are strong enough to handle it.”
Bomberger once touched on the concept of Saviors; he mentioned the way women praise the Planned Parenthood industry saying, “this is our savior for women’s healthcare!” when in reality, he said, “Saviors come to give life, not take it away.”
I invite you to “do your homework” and figure it out for yourself. Do some research, there are some awesome organizations ready to help you. It is only when you do the research yourself you are really eligible to make the decision for yourself. A lot of people say “it’s necessary sometimes but overall its really bad.” So, admit what “necessity” you find abortion favorable and research it.
It’s hard to see the severity of it if you’ve never been involved with it. That’s okay, just don’t forget to ask God to give you His eyes. He’ll help you to see why it’s wrong.
I cannot help but think that the boy or girl who could my sister’s best friend is not with us today. Or the girl or boy you could have befriended. The inventor of something remarkable, or the curer of cancer. Not to mention the unsung hero’s of life, the quiet souls, the ones who could have cracked a joke in the middle of class and made everyone smile leaving everyone with a funny memory for the rest of their lives. The beloved ones who make our days brighter, even if they’re just our co-worker at a small job. Everyone has purpose. All life is sacred. I often wonder what great strides we could have made if some of those lives were with us today…
